Molybdenum spinnerets,also known as“drawing spinnerets”or“molybdenum alloy spinnerets,”are core consumables and forming devices in the production process of continuous fibers such as glass fibers and special glass microfibers.Their function is similar to a“mold”or“spinneret nozzle.”
The working environment of the spinneret is extremely demanding:
Extremely high temperature:approximately 1200°C–1400°C.
Strong corrosiveness:Molten glass is a strongly alkaline substance with extremely strong corrosive properties.
Continuous high-temperature stress:It needs to withstand the hydrostatic pressure of the molten glass and the mechanical stress of the drawing process.
Long-term stability:The hole size must remain stable at high temperatures to ensure uniform fiber diameter.
Molybdenum metal is the preferred material due to its unique physical and chemical properties:
High melting point:2620°C,far higher than the working temperature,ensuring structural stability.
Excellent high-temperature strength:It maintains sufficient strength and creep resistance at 1200-1400°C.
Good resistance to molten glass corrosion:Molybdenum reacts relatively slowly with molten glass at high temperatures,resulting in a long service life.
Good processing performance:It can be welded,stamped,and drilled,facilitating the manufacture of complex structures.
