Application areas of molybdenum nuts
Apr 03,2026
Molybdenum nuts are characterized by high temperature resistance, low thermal expansion, vacuum cleanliness, and resistance to loosening at high temperatures. Therefore, they are primarily used in extreme conditions such as high-temperature furnaces, semiconductors, photovoltaics, vacuum equipment, and aerospace, and are rarely used in ordinary machinery.
1. Semiconductor & Electronics Manufacturing
- This is the largest and most demanding application area for molybdenum nuts.
- Single-crystal silicon furnaces, polycrystalline silicon casting furnaces – fastening of thermal fields, insulation layers, and graphite components
- Diffusion furnaces, annealing furnaces, CVD/PECVD equipment
- Vacuum chambers, high-temperature chucks, electrode connections
- High-temperature fixtures for chip packaging and wire bonding equipment
- Key requirements: low outgassing, high purity, no contaminant impurities.
2. Photovoltaic (Solar Energy) Industry
- Fasteners for thermal fields in silicon material growth furnaces, single-crystal pulling furnaces, polycrystalline furnaces
- High-temperature structural fixation inside sintering furnaces and annealing furnaces
- High-temperature carriers and electrode connections in solar cell manufacturing
3. Vacuum Furnaces & Industrial High-Temperature Furnaces
- Used in almost any ultra-high-temperature, vacuum/inert atmosphere furnace:
- Vacuum sintering furnaces, brazing furnaces, heat treatment furnaces
- Sapphire growth furnaces, ceramic sintering furnaces
- Fastening nuts for heating elements, heat shields, furnace liners, molybdenum screens
- Equipment for rare earth smelting and special material preparation
4. Aerospace & Defense
- Test devices for high-temperature engine components
- High-temperature structural parts for rockets and missiles
- Fasteners for re-entry vehicles and thermal protection systems
- High-temperature test fixtures near combustion chambers and nozzles of aero-engines
5. Nuclear Energy & Radiation Environments
- High-temperature, radiation-resistant fasteners inside nuclear reactors
- High-temperature fastening structures for nuclear testing and nuclear fuel processing
- Advantages: radiation resistance, high-temperature stability, no release of harmful gases.
6. Glass, Ceramics & New Materials Industry
- High-temperature components for glass melting and tempering equipment
- Sintering furnaces for special ceramics and powder metallurgy
- High-temperature tooling for carbon fiber and composite material forming
7. High-Temperature Measurement & Instrumentation Equipment
- Fixing of high-temperature thermocouples and fastening of temperature probes
- Connectors for high-temperature sensors and vacuum instruments
- Internal structures of laboratory high-temperature reactors and muffle furnaces
